Richard Sherman arrest details are emerging after the former Seahawks and 49ers cornerback was booked in King County on a domestic violence charge.

Richard Sherman is still without a team for the 2021 NFL season, and his wait might take even longer.

According to NBC Sports Northwest’s Joe Fann, King County records show that Sherman was arrested and booked for “Burglary Domestic Violence”, a matter that is currently being investigated as a felony.

Records also show that Sherman was denied bail.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed reports of Sherman’s arrest and gave further details.

“Richard Sherman was booked at 6:08 this [morning] at the Seattle Correctional Facility for “Burglary Domestic Violence”, per King County public records,” Schefter reported. “Sherman also was denied bail.”

Richard Sherman arrest halts free agency speculation

Sherman spent the first seven years of his career with the Seahawks as a key member of the Legion of Boom. He was instrumental in helping Seattle win a Super Bowl, and almost helped them go back-to-back had it not been for an infamous Pete Carroll play call blunder.

After his time in Seattle came to an end, Sherman joined the 49ers and similarly helped them get to a Super Bowl in 2020.

He entered free agency again this offseason at age 33, and despite his age was drawing interest from contenders looking to add his veteran presence to the locker room. There was even talk recently of a possible reunion with the Seahawks, but his arrest and the pending investigation put an immediate halt to any free agency speculation that may have been swirling.

Sherman, the NFL, nor his former teams have publically commented on the arrest.
